Fashion houses say bridal fashion has seen the uproar in recent times. Rather than opting for the conventional white gown, brides of today have shifted their gaze to more modern outfits. What’s more? Along with the outfits, brides have also chosen a rightful retrofit to suit their wedding attire!

Wondering what we are talking about?

Well, it is the one and only wedding shawl that has emerged as “the” retrofit for the year! Apart from the spring weddings, winter seems to be the hot favorite for couples to tie the knot! US winters see a flurry of wedding bells as more and more couples are getting hitched during Fall.

Winter Weddings in US call for Cozy Comforters!

Who does not love a winter wedding? The food, the snow, the chill in the air, the merriment that pervades every soul present in the venue – everything calls for a heartfelt celebration fitting for the holy matrimony.

However, all these kept aside, a bride and her bridesmaids do require warm accessories which will blend in seamlessly with her dress! Such adjuncts are a necessity as well as a fashion statement. The field of bridal fashion shows how wedding shawls, wedding wraps, especially the pashminas have become the extra dramatic accessory for any bride to look mind-blowing.

Let’s take a look at the recent retrofits on which everyone gushes over!

  1. Wedding Shawl

The shawl has been a constant in the fashion club ever since its inception from the mountain regions. Made from super soft wool coming from the skin of a mountain goat, shawls do make an ideal winter warming accessory to sport. Worn around the neck or draped over the arms or even around the waist for warmth, the shawl becomes an epitome of luxury.

Wedding shawls are available in different colors and patterns today which women simply adore. The bridal shawl also emerges as a must-have wedding accessory, thanks to the eye-grabbing designs imbibed on it.

Moreover, being beautifully designed with modern patterns, these shawls speak of a bygone era whose essence still prevails.

  1. Wedding Wraps

Wraps have become the new “buddy” for ladies. A wedding or bridal wrap can turn any simple wedding dress into major fashion attire. How? To begin with, wraps have evolved into perky little cover ups which are sleek and extremely fashionable to wear. They are feather light and super soft portraying a finesse never seen before. Moreover, they can be stylized in numerous ways like:

  1. Bohemian Chic Wrap – Perfect to look casual yet trendy! Draping casually over bare arms and matched with an off-shoulder wedding dress makes the bride look sexy.
  2. Enigmatic Elegance – This style has been going around in the US for quite some time. Reputed fashion experts suggest brides go for this style. This is an enchantress style code where you wrap around your shoulders letting both ends fall loose.
  3. Wedding Pashmina

The pashmina essentially traversed cross cultural borders for centuries and evolved over time carrying a royal lineage in its core. Recently, pashminas have been imbibed by global cultures, imbued with bold colors like royal blue, burgundy, maroon, lilac and red. Such striking colors make a pashmina wedding shawl stand out to combine with pastel toned wedding attires.

“Dress up to get a killer look.”

When it comes to a wedding, you obviously want to look out of the world! And why not!

A single piece of wedding shawl can give you a complete makeover. Whatever your dress may be, whether you choose a skirt or even the recent wedding pants look, shawls and wraps do boost up your D-day get-up!

A wedding marks the most important day in a woman’s life. From decorations to the ceremony, everything holds major significance on that day. The bride’s gown too is one of the most important aspects. What the bride chooses to wear on this auspicious day forever remains as an important souvenir. So, when a bride chooses a wedding shawl to go with her gown, it should be fitting to the occasion.

As far as wedding shawls and wedding wraps go, pashminas are a favorite amongst brides for their wedding day. These shawls are timeless when it comes to style and provide the warmth and comfort required on a chilly day.

Reasons why wedding shawls are a favorite amongst brides

There are various reasons to why brides prefer pashminas over other materials as their wedding shawl. Some of those are:

  1. They are timeless. Brides simply can’t go wrong with a white or ivory pashmina wrapped around them with their wedding gowns. These shawls are a perfect mix of traditional and modern styles and bring elegance to the bride’s ensemble.
  2. Bridal shawls are true body warmers providing sheer comfort. They not only bring style quotient to the bride’s attire but also optimally serve the purpose of wearing a shawl.
  3. They are available in a wide range of colors. So, apart from making good bridal shawl, they are also perfect for matching with bridesmaid’s dresses. Likewise, if the bride prefers to wear a shawl in contrast to her white dress, she can choose any color she wants to!
  4. Pure cashmere shawls range a bit higher owing to their grandeur. However, if you are looking for something a bit less expensive, you can go for mixed cashmere shawls manufactured in Italy. These shawls are super soft to touch and are on par with original pashminas.

Where does Pashmina wool come from?

Pashmina is the finest cashmere pashmina wool combed from the underbelly of Capra Hircus goat from the Himalayan regions of Tibet, Mongolia, Kashmir and Central Asia at elevations of 14,500 feet and above, where temperatures rarely rise above minus 30 degrees centigrade in winter. Pashmina is the goat’s soft underbelly down, which lies under the coarse outer hair. The diameter of the fiber is about five times smaller than a human hair.

Each goat produces about 3 ounces of wool each year. To produce one shawl requires the wool from 3 goats, the goats are not harmed in the process, as it is collected after being shed naturally. This is unlike the process of producing shahtoosh, in which the Tibetan Chiru antelopes are killed. We do not deal with such products.

Our Pashmina products.

All our pashminas are individually hand loomed by Nepalise craftspeople. Beware of traders selling machine loomed pashminas as the far superior hand loomed variety. Every winter the wool is sheared from the mountain goats and washed and graded. The wool is spun into yarn. Silk yarn and pashmina yarn are hand-woven in wooden frames, the ends are cut and ready to be dyed individually by hand. After dyeing, fringes are knotted and cleaned for final packaging. There is absolutely no child labor used in our products.
